MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — A loud boom rattled residents around the Mount Pleasant area of South Carolina early Tuesday, but it wasn't an earthquake. According to our partners at WCIV in Charleston, several homeowners reported that their windows shook from the boom, which happened around 8:40 a.m. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division acknowledged the reports about the 'large boom/rumble' and was working to figure out where it came from. The U.S. Geological Survey also said that no earthquakes were reported in the area as of 9:45 a.
